The Gold's Curse
Ch 3-"Adventure Bound"
Quote of the chapter- "That's what a ship is. It's not a keel and a hull and a deck and sails. That's what a ship needs. But what a ship is, what the Black Pearl really is, is freedom
Freedom to do whatever you want
to sail forever" Captain Jack Sparrow
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Ina asked her childhood friend, Jenna as she was loading food and medical supplies onto a light sloop with white sails that had a design of a sideways blue cross. On the back was its name-Noble Legend. "I have to. This is the only way to get to Isla de Muerta." Jenna said ad Vincent ran into the side of the boat. The sides had been well maintained; a polished wood surface lied over steel siding. "If needed, we have a propeller and Ross can power it if needed." Ina looked at the ground and then into Jenna's eyes. "But you don't know what League Officials have been saying
.there are an increasing number of pirates out on the waters
" Jenna looked startled and then gazed out at the water. "This is the only way I can break the curse
.I have to take that risk."

The three sails unfurled and caught the wind blowing from the shore as Veruka easily hauled in the anchors. The light sloop-steered by Jenna- rocked to the motion of the waves and within a few minutes, the shore of the Sinnoh region became a speck on the horizon. Ross stood on the front of the ship, gazing out to sea-the Medallion hidden under his collar. Sebelius had excitedly roosted in the "Murkrow's Nest". Jenna inhaled the salty sea air. In front of the ship was a massive steel-colored ship with a deck near the water pointing out from the ship with a massive drill-like structure in front of it. There were two sails on the steering pole and two masts with three sails. A third mast held a large, triangular sail. All of the sails were sky blue and the two main sails on the front two masts and the outside sail on the steering pole had a black design of a sharpedo. On the second mast-the tallest one- was a black flag with a skull and crossbones with an hourglass next to it. "Pirates
." Jenna whispered in a horrified voice.
Suddenly, something heavy landed in the water just to their left, but the ship in front of them had not fired. In fact, they were in the process of loading the cannon-shaped guns with armor piercing rounds while the ten guns on each broadside were let out. The two cannons on the lower front deck were loaded quickly and pointed straight ahead while the rest of the 14 guns on the top deck of the massive War Frigate were loaded quickly as well. Jenna risked a glance behind her and saw a massive ship about the same size of the ship in front. Like her ship, it had a wooden coating over a metal frame for decoration. It was shaped like a normal sailing ship with two sails on the steering pole and three masts. The front two had three sails and the third, like the ship in front of them, had a large triangular sail. This ship was a war brig. All of the sails were white and the second mast held a black flag with a skull and crossbones and a cutlass bordering each side of it. Jenna spun the steering wheel and turned her ship sharply to the right. As soon as she moved the Noble Legend out of the way, the war frigate opened fire-taking advantage of being the only ship with guns that could fire directly in front of it. Moving out of the war zone, as the brig started to make an attempt to escape by using its superior speed, Jenna glanced at the name of the war frigate-Intrepid Stallion. Jenna returned her gaze to the sea ahead of her. She knew that the Noble Legend could not withstand the battle of the giants behind her. Unbeknownst to her, the massive war brig fired something small that landed on the deck behind her and fell into the cargo hold through a grating. As the Noble Legend moved far enough to no longer see the pirate vessels, Jenna let out a sigh of relief to survive her first contact with pirates.
Ross took out the medallion after the pirate scare and gazed at it. It started glowing brighter. Confused, Ross moved it to the right and the glow faded. He put it back in front of him and the glow returned. Moving it to the left, the glow faded again. Saria soon realized that the Medallion was leading them to Isla de Muerta. Jenna also had noticed this. Smiling to herself, she knew that now she had a heading to go by. Vincent only had one word to describe it. "Shiny
." Well, that was before Veruka punched him. In the far distance, a black Galleon with black sails sped by at speeds a light sloop-the fastest ship available-could only dream of.
On the War Frigate, a young adult man with short brown hair sat petting a young glaceon. "I didn't expect to see another ship that had Pokémon on the top decks, Aurora" He said to the glaceon, getting a small murmur in reply. And for
to fire a tracking devise, he must believe that ship is going to the Isla de Muerta
.but for what?" He then let out an angry huff. "We almost caught that traitorous bilge ratatta by surprise. If that light sloop wasn't in the way, I would have finally brought an end to that man." "Glace! Glaceon!" Aurora the glaceon replied, trying to sheer her master up. "You're right. That man will certainly target that light sloop now
all we have to do is trail that traitor at a fair distance while he is focused on the other ship.
On board the war brig seen earlier, a pirate with long, graying hair and grey moustache sat in the captain's cabin looking over the a small devise. On it was what looked like a radar screen, except it had a blip constantly moving away from the center. "That sloop was no pirate ship, yet it wasn't a navy or a trading ship. That means they are treasure hunters
and there is only one island around these waters known to be filled with treasure
.Isla de Muerta." The man glanced at his map. "They are heading south-west. The winds are now blowing from the North. If we can use the winds, we'll catch up. I'll be the first one on that island" On the map, was a location with a circle marked on it. "If that ship and crew happens to be lost to Davy Jones' locker
