Okay.  Monday, June 3, my dog-Shellbee-had to be put to sleep. I am 22 (23 August 24), and my mom and I had gotten her when she was 2-and she was with us for 12 years, so I was attached to her-I lost my best friend.

This has hit me VERY hard, as I never got a chance to say goodbye as I was working at  O.A.T.S (yes, it is still running even after Nancy's death-her dream lives on!)

My mom had taken her to the vet that day because she had gotten sicker and was refusing to eat.  She had lost about 80% of her body weight and her back legs were giving out and she would literally collapse, so it was her time.

Not only that, but I was leading Spencer-a horse at O.A.T.S that weighs about 1,200 pounds.  On a muddy trail, he stepped on my right foot and put all of his weight on it.  I'm lucky the ground was muddy so my foot sank into the ground when he stepped on it-otherwise my foot may have been broken.

As it is, I STILL have a hoof-shaped bruise on my foot.

I am sorry for your loss. I had lost a dog a few years ago as well lost many other pets.
